Hey all. My iPod finally got too small for me, so I bought a 20 GB iPod from the college bookstore and now I'd like to sell my old iPod to subsidize some of the cost.

It's a 5 GB iPod, 1st generation. It's fairly scuffed, but works great. I get four to six hours from the battery every time I use it. There's a little software glitch where if you adjust the volume before the song starts, the volume change doesn't take until you hit play/pause, or one of the forward or backward buttons.

I have:
-The iPod
-The box it shipped in. The box is for a 10 GB iPod since I bought the iPod used, and the guy I bought it from just tossed the 5 GB iPod into the box from his new 10 gigger.
-The wired remote
-Carrying case for the 10 GB iPod, which fits fine.
-The power brick
-A FireWire cable

I will reformat the iPod and install the latest firmware.

If I don't sell it here, I'll want to put it on eBay. Does anybody know if I can make it work on a PC?

I don't have access to a digital camera right now, so I'll post a picture later if anybody wants to see it.

Asking price: $110 plus shipping

Would you take $75 in cold hard cash if I came and got it? (I'm just up the road in Portland.)

Or are you interested in bartering for anything?

I bought a 1st gen 5gb early this year and used it on my pc. I read of many problems but I didn't even have so much as a hiccup. I believe I had it ready to go on my pc and 80% full of music nearly 10 minutes out of the box....That doesn't mean others won't find a way to screw that up :D

Not when I can get closer to my asking price on eBay. Make it $100 and you have a deal.

hehe.. Oh well, I had to try. (It's X-Mas season, and I have $75 set aside for one person, and not a dollar more, sorry.)

Good luck on eBay! (Write a good description, with a couple well-photographed pictures, and you might get $150.)

My boss is looking for an iPod for her daughter and I will tell her about your auction. Hopefully she will be interested.
