They will be on display after September 7th, 2010, as the Keynote on Wednesday told us, that the new iPods will be available next week.

thats the tricky thing, they always look different in real life. i cant wait for them to be in Australia, i will walk into the store, see them (maybe squeal) and then pick a colour and buy it.

Oh man, luck you! I just called my local Apple Store in excitement of your post. Unfortunately, they gave me the usual response everyone else gets, "They should be in sometime this week."

Did you see any new cases and/or screen protectors while you picked up your new iPod?

Was in the Glasgow store today. They were not on display but at least one of the display tables was missing from the shop floor. I presume it will be there tomorrow with some shiny new ipods wired to it. :D

Apple Store West County in St. Louis has them. All for demo and sale. Went in looking at the nano..WAY too small for a touch screen. Too small in the hand. Got the 8gb Touch.

I rang Bluewater and she didn't seem to even know there was a new iPod Nano, let alone whether it was available yet... she was like 'check the web site, everything's on there'! :(

Most stores ship them back to Apple for selling into the refurb or sales section of the online store - some very select stores will sell them at a reduced cost - but this is kinda rare and not protocol

I went to my local Apple Store and the new iPods were on display. I dislike the iPod Nano because my fingers are too big. I couldn't experiment with the new iPod Touch because every one that was on display showed that it needed to be plugged into iTunes. I cannot come to conclusions with the iPod Touch.

Argh, no Nano's in stock yesterday and no iPod Touch's on display (although in stock). Stupidly I only asked if they had the new iPods in stock, not the specific model so was a little disappointed yesterday. Have been reliably informed they will have the new Nano today so will try again later - grrrrrr!

Amen. I've made two trips in the past two days down there, both times disappointed.

I managed to pry an estimation out of the concierge there...she said they should arrive either today or Friday.

I asked her after some jackass specialist told me they probably wouldn't have them for another week or two, which is BS.

Going to call them around 11...hoping for the best.

Just phoned Southampton Store and informed that they have the new Nano on display, but none in stock :mad: She was not sure when they would be getting any stock in, but suggested that the online stores estimations would be a good indication (7-10days, i hope not!)

The Argos where I live have big signs saying "New iPod range in store today" but they don't actually have them in stock...... :confused:

I thought Apple would do a worldwide release like with the iPhone. It would have saved all this confusion.

I went to the Apple store at Meadowhall in Sheffield last night. They had the new Touch and Shuffle on display but not the new Nano.

They said they would have a small number in store from today (Thursday) and that they had got the display models, but hadn't had chance to put them out yet.

Obviously I wasn't able to see them or buy one... but I'm going to Bluewater on Saturday so hopefully they will have them in stock by then!

I went to the Apple store today at Montgomery Mall after work in the D.C. area. The store was fairly busy and there were 4 nano stations set up. Nobody was playing with them. The Red was my favorite color though.

Just came back from the local candy store (Pasadena, CA) and they had like 4 displays for the nano as well. Things are really tiny in person.
