Fantasic. Mirrors the specs of current flash memory (in terms of I/O speed and number of writes), while reducing package size and power consumption (this new package tops OUT at the 3.3v that the current flash standard operates).
I love how the author defines power in 'volts', but, either way, his point is understandable.

Get at least 256MB in that size, and then we'll be talking. Serious applications of memory that small.

As an upgradeable memory chip for an electronic device it's OK, but there comes a point when it gets so small you'll need tweezers to install it, or a pair of glasses to find it! ;-)

So a flash iPod with a removable back or cover and multiple memory banks inside would work (bit like SIM cards in a mobile phone), but as a removable card for a digital camera picture downloads, IMHO, the small size negates the user handling.

It may not catch on for user replaceable cards but it could be used for permanent internal memory. Just because it's a flash card doesn't mean it has to be removable.
