Mac Pro Diagnosis?

My Mac Pro is unwell with some reboots and white screens recently, is there a good diagnosis guide around?

If as I suspect it's a power supply can these be repaired I can see an exchange service from a Mac parts suppliers but wow they are expensive. PC power supplys are half this..anybody done any DIY repairs? or are these much more complex?

Have you run Apple Hardware Test (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1509) from the original install disks? I guess you don't have AppleCare.... but before jumping to any conclusions, I'd run this or/and take it for diagnosis to an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Center. The information you provide is quite limited....
