I have an ipod video, 5G, 60gb.

It has a MK6008GAH HDD (http://sdd.toshiba.com/main.aspx?Path=StorageSolutions/1.8-inchHardDiskDrives/MK6008GAH)
This has a 40 pin ZIF connector.

Can I replace this with any 1.8 inch ZIF drive such as:
Kingspec ZIF SSD MLC SMI (http://www.kingspec.com/solid-state-disk-products/ssd-18zif-mlcs.htm)
This needs 3.3v input and has the right dimensions
OR
PhotoFast 1.8" GMonster-ZIF V4 SSD (http://www.photofast.tw/products/ssd-18zifv4.html)
Also 3.3v input

This website (x_produhttp://www.maxxxware.de/maxxct_gmonster_ide18_zif2_v2_32.php) (german) lists the 2nd version of the Photofast to work with the classic.

Rw3 (http://forums.macrumors.com/member.php?u=185785) recently said (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=980378&highlight=ipod+ssd) that he/she managed to get an "original MacBook Air SSD" working in an ipod classic but did not post any more information about the SSD. http://att.macrumors.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=242153&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1280440795 (http://att.macrumors.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=242153&d=1280440795) http://att.macrumors.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=242154&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1280440795 (http://att.macrumors.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=242154&d=1280440795)

There was also an earlier question (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=872854&highlight=ipod+ssd) about the same thing.

The crux of the matter is: Does any HDD/SSD that works in the Macbook air work in an iPod? Any other ideas?

I'm sure it'll work because SSDs are essentially HDDs just without the spinning platters. You might even get better battery life on the classic with it. However that sounds really expensive for a music player. I'd just get a second classic and split your music.
