Hi all Forum Users,

I have a small problemet that some of you may be able to help with.
I have a new Hard Disc(30Gb) for my G3 (Wallstreet) and before I fit it I want
to erase the old Hard Disc(10Gb) before selling on. I try to boot from the OSX 10.2 CD No1. and part way thru' booting the screen dims and I cannot then see the prompts to enable me to continue so I can get to the Disc Utility application so that I may Partition the old Hard Disc. I can then swap out the Disc and perform a full clean OSX 10.2 install on my new disc.
Can anyone please shine any light on my problem (No pun intended)

Thanks in advance
Stevie D.

You could try booting from an OS 9 CD and use Drive Setup to write zeroes over the drive.

Hi Diamond Geezer,

Thanks for the suggestion unfortunately I don't possess an OS9 System Disc.

Try and find a friend who can loan one to you, or find a local mac shop.

High-powered magnet. Not that hard to build your own electromagnet...
