Unable to open iMovie4 project in Final Cut Express2

I'm new to FCE. Just installed this morning on my new iMac G5.

I have 3 iMovie project from my old iBook I'd like to move across to FCE. One of them opens OK, however the others I get the message: "Insufficient content to edit."

Why is this?
In iMovie do I need to 'share' the project as a Quicktime.dv
