Hi -

I broke the LCD screen on my beloved iMac G5 17". It is model #A1173, MA199LL/A, EMC 2104. Early 2006.

This is one of the first G5's with the iSight camera and with the new intel 1.83 Core Duo processor.

As far as compatibility, from what I can determine, I can't use a 'pre-iSight' panel as a replacement part.

Can anyone please confirm that? Also, would i be able to use any of the subsequent 17" panels from the G5's late 2006 (models MA710LL or MA590LL)

Would anybody have suggestion on where to look for a reasonably priced replacement LCD panel?

Any input is appreciated!

I'm in the same position at you (I require the 20" instead).

As far as I can tell you cannot use the pre-iSight screens - otherwise you will fry the power supply!
