I have an opportunity to purchase a Powerbook G4 1.5GHz with 768MB RAM, its $150 and seems to be in great cosmetic shape....

Worth it?

Worth it?
I would say so. The 12" PowerBooks are a really nice form factor. Their looks still hold up quite well.

The 1.5 ghz version still work quite well for todays applications (except flash video content). I have 10.5 on mine and it works good (not like I have much choice if I want the latest version of iTunes or Back to my Mac support).

My kids really like it for online games (Webkinz and such). They are constantly using it on the coffee table when the other computers in the house are in use. They say that flash works fine for those types of things.

$150 is good. I've been looking for one to buy for my gf, and its tough finding one on eBay for less than $250. She loves the size, but her old 867MHz model is just too slow for her now.

I would say it is. They are actually good for modern applications (provided they support powerpc) except for, as said, flash content.

That said listening to itunes and browsing macrumors it feels largely the same as my Mac Mini.

Just make sure to max the ram and put leopard on that baby and you're good to go. It was my main machine for a LONG time (5 years or so of ownership, about 3 where it was the only machine I had). I still have it, but my new Mac Mini is now my main machine.

Also, if it doesn't have dents or scratches, snatch it up, its unbelievable how horribly people treat their powerbooks by looking at ebay.

So point of it all. Pick it up :).

I would buy. It's almost a collector, many people on this forums still use it.

That's a nice price especially if it's as good in condition as you say (or imply).

If you don't, I'll buy it ;)

It's compact and aluminum and comparable to a netbook (in power and size). But beats in in price for 150$
