A few new Apple TV questions for a Noob Plz.

I do not currently have an Apple TV but I am very interested in the upcoming new version of it so I have a few questions that might seem stupid but I really don’t know a thing about this stuff.
Can I move this device from TV to TV around the house and if so, how difficult is it to do?
I thought a HDMI cable carried both video and sound, so what is the optical audio connect on the back for?
Will this device work with any router? (I have a Netgear WDN3700)
Will this device stream from movies directly from iTunes on a PC? I don’t have a Mac.
What other things should a completely novice person be made aware of?
