Hiya.

I have an older Mac Mini that's running OS 10.4.11. I want to use it with my Samsung TV Model 550 (LN40A550P3F, to be exact), but it won't display on the TV. The TV says "Mode Not Supported". I'm using the Apple DVI-VGA converter, and VGA cables to connect to the TVs.

The thing is, I have several other (smaller) Samsungs in the office that it works perfectly on.

When I plug it into the 550, I see the gray Apple start up screen, but then when the mini tries to go to the desktop, the screen goes black.

I think it's trying to set it to an unsupported resolution/refresh rate.

Now, when I hot-swap to the 550 from another TV, it displays just fine--until I reboot the mini.

So, it seems like I need to find a way to have the mini stop auto-setting the resolution after it boots.

I would love some help on this. Thanks!
