Why aren't we discussing the Airport Etreme and Express firmware updates that are posted on Versiontracker and mentioned on MacFixit?

I tried to post in the News forum, but I don't have the access there.

Anyone downloaded and installed it yet?

I think there's an existing thread on macbytes forum...

I installed without any issue, can't notice any difference except possibly it rebooted a little faster. I wasn't paying a massive amount of attention, I think it was two updates ago which solved my "dropping out" problems and it's been plain sailing since. All updates are welcome though.

I installed 6.11 on my two Airport Express units and didn't notice any difference, even though I'm using WPA over WDS.

6.11? So the 5.5 I got through Software Update actually ancient? Why wasn't that in Software Update anyway? Is it official?

Yes, it's official, the download is from the Apple support page, but it's not showing on Update...

MacFixit are reporting a few problems, but generally are positive about both updates.

6.11? So the 5.5 I got through Software Update actually ancient? Why wasn't that in Software Update anyway? Is it official?

I think it's 5.5.1 for Extreme and 6.1.1 for Express base stations.
