I bought a set... it will be a Merry Christmas from me to me :)

It's like getting my singles for .79 instead of .99. Or my albums for 20% off iTunes already-low price. No hurry to use the cards--I'll just spend them gradually.

And give some as gifts? Maybe... maybe not!

Unfortunately they won't sell outside the US :( (maybe they only work with the US store)

Load of *****. There is no reason to not show prices... they merely want people to add the item to their shopping cart and hope they don't remove it again.

Cheap and tacky.

"Why Don't We Show the Price?
The "click for price" message indicates an additional discount is in effect, and this discount is calculated in the Shopping Cart. You can see this price by clicking the product name and then selecting the Add to Cart button on the product information page. Please be assured that simply adding an item to your cart does not obligate you to buy it--you can always delete the item from your cart if you decide not to purchase it."

It does seem that way :D Thankfully that's not true. They are legally bound not to show certain prices, and they are no different from other sites in that regard. Typical example: their agreements with suppliers (like Apple) include "minimum advertised prices" (MAP), and if they go below that, they cannot "advertise" it on their site. They can, however, show it as part of a transaction in progress. And that transaction can be anonymous and easily cancelled--like putting something in your cart without even logging in. Then, if you don't want it, Amazon gives you LOTS of chances to see what's in your cart and modify your order in progress. Something big enough to have an MAP is hardly likely to be forgotten--it will be quite a dent in your total.

Besides, they DO show the price for this item without putting it in your cart. They show the price for most items, but where their contracts require this little "loophole," I'm happy for it: better that than paying full price :)

Do u reckon...a guy from the UK, feeling very unhappy at never having any itms promotion, could ask a very pleasant person from the US to buy this on behalf of us, we pay them by Paypal, they could give us the five codes and we could redeem them from the US store and download the songs to England....or would this not work? ;)

For me at least, they want to charge shipping of roughly $8. Which eats into half of the discount and annoys me even more because they could just put them in an envelope and send them by regular mail.

The default shipping is faster (for Xmas), but it says how to get free shipping. Just choose the cheaper but slower option.

Yes, that works, I've done it myself in the past. You just need to dream up a US address (the zip code must match the city, try Beverly Hills 90210 ;))
