I think so anyway from http://www.apple-history.comOk cool cause my friend has a ti powerbook (the latest model) and i like it a lot so i was wondering how much faster mine would be if i got a new one. Looks like going from a 1gig processor to a 1.33 or even the 1.5 should make quite a difference not to mention the room for 2 gigs of memory over the ti's 1 gig

You need to know top of the line when. Top of the line TiBooks have been 500 MHz, 667 MHz, 800 MHz, and 1 GHz at various times, with different GPUs and other options. For the details, see this table (http://www.lowendmac.com/pb2/g4-guide.html).

having 1MB of l3 cache would make about a 10-15% difference so that 1GHz 7455 would be like a 1.15GHz 7447 (the double l2 cache dosn't make that much difference)

top of the line meaning it was the fastest when they were out, the 400MHz one was never the fastest because there was a 500MHz one just a the 550MHz one was never the fastest.
