First, let me say I am not trying to offend anyone who bought red nano. I am really not. I actually want to buy red nano myself. My question is about how will people think about new nano color. Do you guys think iPod nano in red is not good for boys? Or am I just overreacting? I like the color, but I also think it could be little girl's color? I dunno. Please don't take this as any offensive post. Please just share your opinions. Thanks.

If you like red, buy it. If you don't like red, don't buy it.
There's nothing more to the question than that.

Seconding this. Yours is the only opinion that matters. Since you're asking, I personally wouldn't consider it girly. It's red, not pink.

Damn! Nice...
I was just trying to decide between red and green. But, yea. I think I am going for red. Thank you all.

Agreed. It's your iPod, after all. Pick what color you want. And no, I don't think red is a "girly" color at all :)

There's no such thing as a "girly" color to anyone over 15 besides rednecks.

Red was my second choice, after silver. They're both really nice colours IMO, the other colours don't seem to stand out as much.

Red is an awesome color. Plus, part of the purchase proceeds for the red model go to a good cause...

Outside of the 3rd generation model of Red I wouldn't consider the red color girly at all. The 3rd gen/2nd color batch of 2G shuffles were more of a maroon color and even then I wouldn't call it girly.

The red looks really nice. I have the green myself and I just bought my sister the pink one for an early Christmas present (since she obliterated her Nano).

I got mine in red, and I don't even like the color. I guess the fact that it's a special edition tops it.

So, you like red. Buy it and be yourself.
For what it's worth the world's most famous English football team wear red. Are you saying that they're all a bit girly? Hmmm.
And another totally philosophical thought – is there anything wrong with girls, anyway?

I'll say the same thing I said in this thread. (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=831397)
What is so bad about girly?
If you like it, buy it. Owning something others consider girly doesn't make you a girl (or gay, if that's what you're worried about).
Besides, what's more manly than not caring about what other people think?

Red and black is a classic pairing. Some would say 'evil', 'aggressive', 'fire and brimstone'.
It's not powder pink and the screen border is black...

Red is my favorite iPod color, I got every nano in red since 3rd generation without ever feeling girly about it (if there is such a thing). Stay true to yourself, get what you like.

No way. I love red. I wouldn't really care anyway even if it was considered a 'girly' colour. I like blue more though :)

Red is like my second favorite color behind black. Represents passion and that's how I am with anything I get interested in. All my favorite sports teams have red in their uniforms. I wear red shirts and jackets all the time. I plan to get a red Nintendo 3DS and if the Nokia N8 came in red, I would get that too. I don't mind getting more gadgets in red over black and silver. If it was regarded as "girly", I really wouldn't care. Don't let other's opinions control what you feel and enjoy.

The OP should get more self esteem in the first place :) I had a purple iPod Nano 5g and it looked very very nice. Nice enough to get stolen by some idiot :(
Now i have a silver one 5g and although it looks nice it is like some thief stole the color from it. Go red if you like red. Look, the sowejets built a whole Comunity around red. You don't have to go this far but red indeed is a very appealing color to most men.

Not only is it a pretty gender neutral and a good colour, but also some of the money is sent to fund research into fighting disease. A good thing all over I'd say.

I have the graphite color because I have black/graphite V-Moda headphones so its perfect; also because my girlfriend bought it for me and assumed graphite was the most masculine.
But, the red is by far my favorite. Not at all girly.
Go red.

Red is not a girly color, but in very traditionally macho environments, any dissent from grays / black / blue will certainly bring a little ridicule. Then again, do you really care if it does? You like the color, you should get it.
Personally, I bought an older iPad shuffle in Orange because I like it. I've also owned a Green iPod mini. In fact, if I could get my iPhone in orange, I would have! Guys should not feel girly just because we like to express ourselves with color. Remember-- nothing is inherently girly or masculine. It's social norms that establish that. And red is, at worst, a-sexual-- meaning it is not strongly affiliated with either sex in our culture.
Here's the best way to look at this from a designers perspective: red will garner attention and show you have confidence in your choices. You don't even need to defend your choice. You simply assert it's awesome. You might be surprised how well that works.

Na, I like that color red. It's kinda dark instead of brighter red which can look pinkish.
You're fine bro. Don't worry you won't lose your man-hood over having a red iPod.
