TMPGEnc (http://www.tmpgenc.net) is a very cool Windows app for converting video formats etc. Once of it's features it exporting a video to separate frames as individual images. These can then be imported in to ImageReady and put together as an animated gif
Anyone know of an OS X app that can do this?

I just did something very similar to what you're describing using MediaEdit (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/23330).

GraphicConverter, which should be included on the POS iMac you've been working on, appears to do this, at least with most movies (save as individual images).

Thanks chaps. MediaEdit seems pretty good.
I can't see GraphicConverter, probably because I had to rebuild the machine when iTunes when up the spout just a few days after taking delivery of the iMac  But I'm sure it's on the restore CD's somewhere.
