View Full Version : Why do CDMA phones have no SIM

Must be a very basic question. BUt still what is the reason behind it and how does it work without a SIM

i don't know the details, but SIM is listed as an explicit feature of the GSM, at least in wikipedia.

try looking at these, although they don't say why there's no SIM-equivalent for CDMA, but it sounds like it's a technical reason.

SIM cards basically contain the access code to the network. I guess in CDMA phones the access codes or 'spread codes' are hard coded. So you can not use your phone in any other network.
