I just upgraded to an iPhone 4 and will be going to Europe in a while. I know that Maps will not work over there because it is outside the US but I have a few questions:

Will the iPhone 4 still get GPS signals?

Can I open up Maps & put a pushpin at the hotel location & have the Compass app point me in the right direction when I want to get back?

Any other advice for a traveler with an iPhone 4?

Thanks for the advice.

Maps needs data.
So unless you connect to wifi you wont get far. And yes GPS and compass will still work with no data.

Thanks Applejuiced,

I may be in wifi areas at times, but maybe not. At least I know I can use the Compass to point me in the right direction to the hotel.
