iphone 3g to 4g. help transfering text messages

Hey,
I have tried searching for some advice on the forum, but havent been able to find anything as of yet.
I have a iphone 3g, and a new iphone 4g.. i have alot of text messages on the old phone that I would LOVE to keep..
I tried searching google for some advice, but no luck yet...

I would appreciate any help that anyone was able to give me..

Sync your 3G with Itunes. Then sync your new phone and it will restore the information that you just backed up when you did the 3G sync.

Very simple.
 
Extremely simple. I did it when I got my iPhone 4 on release day and everything transferred like a charm
