How to get Cydia to my phone?

I have my 3gs mobile and I want to get the Cyia into it. I assume I have to do a jailbreak first. I upgraded the software to 4.1. I'm still a bigenner, so can any one put a link or help in doing the whole procedure from A to Z.

Cydia is automatically installed after jailbreaking (JB) the phone. And, you can't currently JB a 3GS on 4.1 firmware. You are going to have to wait for possible 4.1 JB.
