Interesting and impressive, but I'd like to see a correlating chart of CPU usage, as it's pretty much well known that USB uses a lot more resources compared to firewire.
Now only if apple would get off their collective backsides and give us USB3 and FW 1600/3200, or maybe they're just waiting for Light Peak. :rolleyes:

To use USB3.0, it needs PCI Express V2.0 so the MBP, and older MP can not get this speed...
I bet you eSATA would be faster. It is hot plug too, btw
I do not see the benefit of USB3.0, not yet anyway.

For the new pac pros, I do see the benefit of external 3.0 drives since not all other boxes will have esata or even firewire, but all boxes & laptops of all sorts have usb.

It does not make sense, you get USB3.0 box then use as USB2.0.. That is not bright :-)
