i have just purchased a Apple MB871B/A - Apple Mac Pro Xeon Quad Core 2.66GHz 3gb, and i want to install more memory, it has 4 slots, can I install in any configuration, (do i need matched pairs) it will possibly be in 4gb modules and utilise whats already in there. Has anyone installed more than 16gb?

That's the 2009 Mac Pro.

You can install up to 32GB of RAM in them.

I have the 2009 Mac Pro and 3x 1GB (stock) plus 1x 4GB. No problems so far.
