I got a little money this Christmas, and I'm lookingto buy my first Mac. A 12 inch iBook in the $500-$700 range is my budget. Hopefully this will get me around a 700mhz iBook. What's the best reseller to get a refub'd unit from besides the Apple Store? Are these places reliable? Are older iBooks like this good to buy on eBay? I can deal with a unit looking slightly used, I just don't want to have to send it in for repairs a couple months after I get it. Thanks for any help you guys can give.

I would avoid the G3 iBooks as they suffer from a logic board problem and the G4 iBooks are much faster. Here is my recommendations:
1. Amazon - 12" iBook G4 1.2 GHz $899 after rebate no shipping no tax
2. Apple.com - 12" iBook G4 1 GHz $899 (or maybe even cheaper) no rebate
3. Used of craigslist.org or ebay.com G4 iBooks tend to go for $700 - $800
