Got my new Apple TV today. I imagine that our house is similar to any other house with kids: the adults own the main iTunes libraries and NetFlix accounts (and as such they contain some kid inappropriate content). Up until today that content was locked away behind our user accounts.

Enter Apple TV. My iTunes media library and Netflix account are now up on the big screen. ATV parental controls let me make the system ask for a PIN before getting at a content source, but once you are in to a source you can see everything. Not too bad for the adults, but a kid left watching a movie could navigate to bad content anytime I turn my back.

So if I set up parental controls in iTunes and NetFlix, the adults can't see all the content without jumping through flaming hoops. But good for the kids.

Surely there must be a better way ... maybe let me see everything but prompt for the PIN before playing any content that exceeds a ratings limit?
