Unfortunately this sounds more like a Motorola phone with iTunes software, rather than an iPhone. A shame, as I reckon Apple could greatly improve the navigation menu on Moto phones, as well as come up with something aesthetically pleasing.
At least we'll have a phone that should work well with iSync!

I am more hopeful that Apple would have insisted some design involvement because they know thats such a key issue. They can't afford to stuff such an important development up.

I don't see the big deal at all. So what..... Apple designs an iTunes that fits on a mobile phone screen. There's nothing wrong with the music player on my Sony-Ericsson K700i. It even plays AAC files. The only thing it doesn't do is play Apple-DRMed music files. It doesn't sound like such a big deal, because it's not like the software is difficult to create. Lots of others have managed to make a digital music player. Basically the only "crucial" capability this new iTunes player adds is the ability to handle Fairplay DRM.
If they get BT on a Moto phone to work flawlessly with a Powerbook, then give me a holla. Otherwise, I'm going back to bed.

Which is what the original report always said.
It was only those of us commenting on it that used the term "iPhone", and started talking about a wish-list of features as if they were actually going to exist.

Let's hope so.

The first Moto-Apple phone reports were clearly software-only. Good for Apple, good for Moto, good for people with iTMS music... but not THAT exciting to me. A handful of songs on my phone? OK... I'll try to keep an open mind...
More recent reports were worded to suggest that Apple MIGHT be involved in the design of a specific phone model. I'm skeptical of that, but it COULD be true. I'd say 1 chance in 3 :) It would be great if it had iPod ease-of-use! But people are getting their hopes up too early for sure.
Wait until the cries begin... "apple promisd their i-phone they LIE i getting a awsome DELL!!!"
Meanwhile, Apple analysts can keep relying on rumor sites :D

I know, that's why I said it was a shame there wasn't going to be an iPhone.

Hopefully it will be a Motorola phone that will have the capability to iSync with the Mac. Because of NDA we aren't hearing the whole story.

I think that this is a garenteed bet. Madness to not make it fully interface with a Mac. I expect to see full contacts with pictures via BT.
I just hope that it has a gig or 2 of onboard ram for a decent selection of music.
I also expect to see the top one have a megapixel+ camera that syncs with iphoto.
