I opened this ream of 50 bland disks and it says Attention owners of lots of pioneer and Apple and Compaq systems with DVD-R/-RW Drives (DVR-103 & DVR-104)
Due to Firmware "bugs" using 4X may damage units and disks with out a firmware update.
My new G5 imac has (I believe) 10.4.3 (v 145.4) in the About Disk Utility.
Is this OK?
I want to back up some DVD instruction videos I received for Christmas but am a little unsure.
Anyone know if this is OK?

Actually, the issues comes about with some 1x and 2x DVD-R drives and Apple provided firmware patches for these long ago (for the drives that were gotten from Apple). Your G5 system will be okay - it's a newer and faster DVD drive.
