Has anyone gone up line from the optical out to see if it's possable to tap in a 75 ohm BNC or RCA digital out ?
There must be a way to add one.
Why did Apple choose an optical out, haveing to convert the bit stream to light instead of just hardwireing to an RCA or BNC @75ohms?

BTW is Tommy Chong the head of R&D at apple or what?
Check out the red light man...

Are you trying to convert the optical output to digital coax or analog?

If digital, this should do it:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10423&cs_id=1042302&p_id=2948&seq=1&format=2

If analog, this should work:
