greetings,

i was wondering if there was a program to download streaming real media and windows media player for mac? i know there are some for pc, but i wasn't sure if it was the same for mac. thanks!!

There are two that I know of. One is called AudioHijack (google for it) and the other one is called iRecordMusic -- website is: http://www.bitcartel.com/raw/

I use the latter, FWIW, but AudioHijack is somewhat more versatile but less user friendly -- it can hijack other programs besides web broadcasts. If all you want is to record streaming web media, iRecordMusic does it in a very friendly way, and very Mac-centric. Neither one is très expensive.

those programs don't download the stream, they simply rip the audio from what i understand. i was talking about downloading the actual file. like for instance, if i'm watching a video stream that i wanted to dl, what software could do that?

You know it's illegal, right? That's why they STREAM it.
