Hello,

my 8800 GT died the other day and I have a HD 5770 arriving today. I tried to remove the nVidia card but it seems to be more difficult than with cards I've removed in the past. I'd like to avoid brute force, heh.

I looked online to see if there's some kind of trick to this one or any instructions in general but couldn't find anything. So, here I am, asking the all-knowing MacRumors community for help.

Thanks. :)

brute force :)
applied the right way of course, ie. a crowbar wouldn't be the right way ;)

No parts in a computer require brute force to be removed (well except for the old Molex power plugs ).

Please don't try to rip it out without ensuring that you released the little clip that fixes the card in the slot (a the left end of the slot).
