Drives based on this controller already make Intel's G3 drives look old... and really put pressure on Intel to solve the ICH bottleneck and provide native 6Gbps SATA I/O. :rolleyes:

at last something worth waiting for. Next to this, the latest Intel spec that was announced is a non starter. These are also on OCZ's product roadmap.

Oh nice, the second 6Gb/s SATA drives and we already reached the throughput limit of the bus.

6Gb/s SATA is a dead end. Although the performance of these drives is more than stunning (oh yes I want one :D), we need something better than SATA, which is my more and more PCIe based SSD drives for a reasonable price show up.

It certainly makes you wonder if/when the performance improvements in SSD's will level off and how Intel's chipsets are going to cope in the mean-time. I guess PCIe is the only answer and I like the sounds of OCZ's HSDL proposal which is an open standard to provide PCIe over a cable...
