My Mac Pro currently still has the stock amount of 2gb's (1x1) and I had just recently purchased 8gb's (4x4) The guide here on the site said to put the largest amount in A1 and A2 now where am I to move the stock amount to B1 and B2 or A3 and A4? I was thinking B1 and B2 but I am just trying to make sure.

For 4 DIMMs, you want two modules on each riser card. In all configurations, you never want an unpopulated riser.

Put the larger (4GB) DIMMs in A1/A2 (top riser) and the smaller (1GB) DIMMs in B1/B2 (bottom riser).
