dvd slot loading drive

Hi, will my imac g3, OS 9.2, slot loading dvd play dvd-r cds that I have created using my dvd-r recorder? It automaticly ejects with a option to initialize? I have installed the new firmware update. Thanks for any help with this.

probably need more info..

My daughter's G3 Ruby plays DVD-R discs fine, but without knowing a bit more about your machine, I would have to say based on it's behaviour.... no it does not play them..
