I'm having sound problems with my Classic, I have the latest model.

Recently, it sounds like the music starts leaning towards the left speaker, and then occasionally balances out after a few seconds, it just started happening today.

I went out and bought new headphones and it still doing it, so it seems to be the iPod. I tried a hard reset and it still persists.

Any clue what the problem could be?

Are you sure it's not on a custom EQ or something maybe a friend might have set?

Yeah, you can try to reset your EQ setting, If doesn't, I afraid that you should send it back to Apple.

Positive. I've never let anyone use my iPod.

Then try getting a Q-tip (what people use to clean their ears) and use it to clean the headphone jack. That worked for my iphone when it was sounding not as clear as it used to.

No go, it only plays out the left speaker. If I put it in slowly, it starts to play out both, and then when its all the way in it only plays out the left.

And I'm correct to assume this happens on not just one pair of headphones?

It sounds like the little metal pin connector inside of the classic is damaged or dirty, or it just is not working due to a software issue.

Try restoring it, and if it's not dirty or software related (or headphones of course, I assume you've already tried a different pair) it's probably the jack itself, or the circuit board in the unit, and would need to be repaired by Apple.

I have a feeling they're gonna ask me to pay $150 or **** off.

Looks like it was still under year warranty and they replaced it with a new one. No more freezing problems now!
