Whenever I connect my Iphone or digital camera to my computer and start picasa and select Import, it starts to immediately "copy" all the files and indexes them and finds which are duplicates, etc. I know that it has not actually downloaded all the files onto the computer yet. This process is rather annoying as sometimes I just need a few photos, and don't want to wait all that time. I would rather manually select the photos first and then click import. Is there a way to do this?

There's probably something in the Picasa settings that would allow you to select what pictures you want to import, otherwise Image Capture will do this for you quite easily with your device connected.
