Just received my 2010 3.3 6core.
I am having issues with mu G-tech and Lacie external FW800 drives mounting to the desktop. The drives just spin and click and never mount. I tried different cables and both- front and back ports.
Never had an issue using these same drives with a 2008 Macpro.
What has changed and how do i get them to mount?

Weird my 2010 3.33Ghz. Mac Pro mounts up my G-Tech drive without issue via Firewire 800, just mounted mine 30 min ago to pull some files over.

Do they still work on your 2009 MP? The clicking sound may indicate something is wrong with the drive.

It was a 2008 and I sold it. But they all mounted to the 2008 up until the day I sold it. I can understand ONE drive maybe going bad- but all 3? And different brands? Very odd.

are you using just fw800 cable for power no wallwart? are you mounting 1 2 or 3 at a time?

Did you try using another cable?
I thought I recalled reading something about the newest MPs having an issue with FW drives.
