Lately the light on my powerbook that pulses during sleep has started to pulse even if the computer is not sleeping...any ideas?

Some firmware issue maybe .. reset NVRAM might help ..

You're gonna wanna smear garlic (Gardetto's will work, though not as efficiently) all over the outside case, and then stab it with a wooden stake right through the center of the Apple. That'll make that evil light knock it off! :D ;)
