Lately the light on my powerbook that pulses during sleep has started to pulse even if the computer is not sleeping...any ideas?

Hmm... Sounds like your powerbook is definitely possessed. You're gonna wanna smear garlic (Gardetto's will work, though not as efficiently) all over the outside case, and then stab it with a wooden stake right through the center of the Apple.
