Do not upgrade to Logic 9.1.2 if you're running a quad-core Nehelem Mac Pro or iMac. Apparently it cuts the performance in half. Insane!

Thanks, very interesting.
I've already updated my Mac Pro 8 Core but didn't tested it yet. I am curious if it affects my machine, too ! Would be very disappointing....
Are 09 Quad Cores the only machines affected yet?

Does this affect the Logic Express update too?

HyperThreading can help, but it's not exactly a 2x speed up in any way. So I find those reports a little odd.

As far as I heard, it's the same thing.

Fix for 9.12.
Open terminal:
Enter this string:
defaults write com.apple.logic.pro MD_AllowVirtualCores -bool yes
Your hyperthreading is re-enabled.
On my Corei7 2.8 ghz iMac I went from 61 tracks with HT with 9.11 to a pitiful 30 tracks!
With 9.12 and the fix I went to 70 tracks!
This is using the Evan benchmark where every track has a space designer and exs1 instrument. Overkill I know. No real session would ever have that.
At any rate, there you go.
