Was just released today. Probably not allot of people here using squeezebox devices or servers but if so this is a great app for controlling it.

Would you happen to have Spotify working on your squeezebox? Can you tell me what the user experience is like with that? I've been looking for an awesome way to enjoy music via my stereo and an iPad. (sucks Spotify doesn't have its own client!)

I just downloaded it and It works good. I really like it on the iphone4 though. The cover art is horrible on the iPad though it looks almost as if they just used the iPhone covers. Hopefully that get better. But overall it is working great right now

You are spoiled by the dpi of the iPhone4. It's impossible for the iPad to make the images look that sharp with it's dpi. Absolutely nothing to do with the iPeng for Ipad software.

Jeff, thanks a lot for opening this.

To introduce myself: I'm the author of iPeng and would be happy to answer questions on it here.

On the ones seen so far:

Spotify. This does only work if you use the Squeezebox Server software right now and if you have a Spotify premium account.
iPeng will then support it. To make it REALLY look cool (cover wall, side-by-side album/cover view) you will need the 7.6 beta of Squeezebox Server (that's for iPeng for iPad, less of a difference on the iPhone version)

Cover Art: How good is your artwork? iPeng uses 150x150 thumbs and for the Screen saver it uses 768x768 or as-good-as-you-have-it. So if you only have 300x300 artwork I'd recommend to use the playlist screen saver....
I've tried other thumbnail sizes but actually all others either have severe performance pitfalls or they look bad for small thumbs or both so I decided to go with these which is certainly not perfect if you blow up your cover wall images to the max size which is 300x300 I believe. But with the current iPad hardware I don't believe I will get it done any better. Hey, look at what the iPod app or Apple Remote use...

Nice. It's not as slick as the Sonos iPad app, but it's a start! I wish it was an universal app and not another $9.99.

C'mon. Sonos has what, 40x40 pixel artwork? You can't really find that "slick", can't you? OK, the drag&drop is cool, but what an AWFUL waste of screen estate! Just my opinion.

I admit iPeng has some glitches right now like the flickering scroll and the somewhat wrongly positioned popovers but those will be fixed soon, I'll submit an update probably tomorrow.

On the universal app: No chance. There's a lot of new stuff in there that would make it really difficult. This has much bigger changes from the iPhone App compared to Sonos which is essentially putting three screens from the iPhone App side-by-side.
Plus, since the market is somewhat limited and I don't make a living off selling $350 hardware units it really wouldn't be feasible to put all that effort (and money!) in just to give it away for free.

There is now a 1.0.1 version of iPeng for iPad on the App Store which fixes a few smaller issues (e.g. jittery scrolling under some circumstances) and allows for artwork resizing on the artwork screen saver.

Have fun!

iPeng is great although I only use it on iPhone - I'm working with the official free Logitech app for now on iPad, but may try the iPeng iPad soon....

Spotify for me works great on my Squeezebox Touch, very few issues, of course you need a premium account.

Well I decided to get ipeng app for iPad - great and better than the official Logitech app for sure - which in itself wasnt half bad.

One thing though, lyrics don't seem to be coming up, I just get 'searching for lyrics' no matter how long I wait?!
