View Full Version : Where is the best place to see MWSF?

I would like to know where the best(best quality) place to watch MWSF online. I remember watching other MacWorlds at apple.com, and at 100% size and it was only 3 by 3 inches. Is their a feed that is of a higher quality?

I would love to watch MWSF in half or even full screen. :D

Thanks for taking the time to read and post. :)

Well bandwidth limits the quality for webstreams .. if there is a satellite case you can tune into that with your $$$$ equipment .. or if they are showing it in an Apple store you can go there ..

Then again how detailed do you need to see a turtle neck ??

Your eyes are the BEST Quality you will ever have as of present for a human. The best thing to do is go to an Apple Retail Store to see it in person. :)

It really depends on whether or not Apple decides to provide a live webcast, which I doubt considering they didn't for last year's WWDC and IIRC the MWSF as well. Of course you can always go to MR's IRC channel as we'll probably have somebody from the conference providing live updates. In short, don't expect a quality video feed, especially real time.

Well this is a no brainer, the best place to see the MWSF 2005 keynote is:

On Steve Jobs Lap. ;) :) <----- you cannot get any closer, I double dare you. :)

Do they show it live in the Apple Stores even if it's not available as a webcast?

Hmmm, just thinking about that lovely theatre in Regent St...

Edit: I guess not - since the Regent St homepage is advertising a Macromedia MX presentation at 7pm next Tuesday

Apple did a live webcast via satellite to its local Apple Stores last year. So I am expecting a repeat performance. Trying to see it on the Internet has been very disappointing and frustrating.

that's what I was wondering but I was hoping there was a way of doing this without moving the dish around? I'd watch the internet feed but it's just not practical on dialup in fact it down right sucks.

I sort of figured but I don't understand why you wouldn't just read up a report at a place like MacRumors, because every year macrumors makes a high quality report, and by then the newly released items are on apple.com with better images than you could see in the tiny video anyway.

Man.. I've even watched the keynotes on a 128kbps ISDN... at about 800x600, and the quality is good enough! luckily I'm on 512kbps now.

I am going to guess this was not a LIVE feed. And was watched at some godly hour.

Even at the default stream window size I get drop offs and slow downs and I have a 5Mb line and an average 4Mb down speed rate.

Sorry I do not believe you are watching it at 800x600 on a 128-512kbps line.

hmm..i generally dont get a problem - i just watched the 300k feed of the special event just now and it worked ok - obviously it's hardly in high demand atm, but still ;) (btw, when the guy above said that he was watching at 800x600, he probably meant resizing the little 100x100 window you get with the 100k stream and dealing with heavy pixellation)

Although I imagine the MW feed will be in high demand on tuesday, i hope akamai manage to sort out any issues which slow the stream down :s

btw, does anyone know what time the stream is likely to go online? I hope it's not much longer than 2-3 hours after the event, cos i dont know how long I will be able to hold off going to apple.com :o
