Anyone see Bill Gates and Conan O'Brien at CES ??

It was pretty funny.. after stumbling three times to get the
Window Media center working to display a slide show....
Seeing Bill G. keep on pressing the remote and nothing happening was classic.

For the third time...
Conan: "Should we move On"
Bill: "Yup"

Then they finally got it running and it was pretty funny...
Bill and Conan under a variety of poses.. but the last 3
were classic...
1 picture showing Conan and Bill getting drunk

Then a picture of Conan and a hooker.. to which Conan says..
I got so drunk I woke up with a hooker..

Then a picture of Bill in bed with a Powerbook.. to which Conan says..
Bill got so drunk he woke up with an Apple computer..

pretty funny.. thought I'd share..

nothing on the dial-up version. well they did try to play ford motor racing on the x box and it crashed. but, no slideshow.

the 300k had a different begining so it might exist on that version, but stupid wmp can't keep a good bitrate and it chops like a sushi chef.

They got the blue screen of death showing Forza on xbox! And when they were playing, Conan's screen was down to about 2 frames per second.

Click here of the vid. It's near the end. (http://www.xboxyde.com/leech_1073_en.html)

Hardy-ha...
A classic case of sublimated desires, methinks.

A drunk Bill Gates doesn't bear thinking about...

Well it certainly got a good review

From Digital Connect News:

“Microsoft supremo, Bill Gates, suffered the ultimate embarrassment at the opening presentation of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas when the Microsoft Media Center he was demonstrating crashed three times. Then later, a Microsoft product manager was unable to access the Internet when a Tblet PC running Windows XP failed to connect, compounding the red faces.”

Watched the clip, Conan was good, too bad the audience were at most times quiet

I read about that on Fark this morning and it just totally made my day. Between that little incident and the release that HP is going to make Linux-based Media Center-type PCs (http://www.nytimes.com/2005/01/05/technology/05hewlett.html?oref=login) because they're easier to use and less expensive makes me feel really great.

Carleton S. Fiorina, the chief executive, said that by using Linux, rather than Windows, Hewlett can reduce the cost of the device, which has not been set, she said.

"The real motive is not the cost," she added, but "the ease of use and simplicity."

Ha, they took it down. Ok, can someone find a video of all the goof ups? I would love it. Anyone got a video of when Jobs smashed the camera? I just remembered that.

No, the pics are still there. I like the one of Bill in bed with a PB. Wish it were hirez - it'd make a good desktop pic for a day or two.

I originally saw the video linked from this page:
Link (http://games.slashdot.org/games/05/01/06/1337228.shtml?tid=109&tid=211)

I don't know if this is just linking to Microsoft's version, but I just checked it now and it still seemed to work.. although still very choppy.

They're probably taking it down to edit it... maybe using FCP on Bill's Powerbook. :D

The pictures alone are quite hilarious. Definitely trying to degrade Bill Gates. Of course the way that Bill Gates handled the situation would be very telling about his personality. I suppose that what happens behind the scenes would be even more interesting.

I remember that Jobs was demoing iPhoto or iSync or something like that, but the digital carema didn't have enough battery, Jobs got angry and lobbed it to to someone offstage.

Hey, I just recorded it off of tech tv, so if anyone can tell me how to get a dvd-ram to play on a powerbook ill rip it and post it for you all.

It is pretty funny but the crowd was pretty quiet. Bill Gates looked around like he was looking for someone to come fix it or give him a new remote for the media center or something. While he was looking around dumbfounded, Conan made a joke about "Who's in charge of Microsoft anyway?... oh...(the person sitting right beside him)." haha.

Then some guy was demo ing the xbox game and all of a sudden it went blue, and he was like uh oh, apparently im out of system memory. then the clip cut.

Peace
Clayton

How big is the file?? If it's under 100mb you could host it up on Spymac, if its over why don't you create a torrent file so you won't need to take up major server space.

Hi,

The file is 15mb. I tried making a torrent and I didn't know what I was doing, and the server space I have here is messed up, so I can send it to you on AIM if you would like, just email me your address or whatever you like :D

Thanks
Clayton

Heres the recap from tech tv (https://home.comcast.net/~jimsowden/billgates.avi)

note: Don't play in safari. Download it and play with a Divx compatable player.

You wont get sound if you play it in safari (like above). You have to download it and play it on VLC or have the mpeg4 codec.
