DVD to Movie folder - How do I do that

Hi
New here so be kind.
I would like to have a central mac with my itunes and also video stuff on that I could then connect to other tv's and hifi's around the house (would hard wire it as I'm in the middle of DIY on the house).

My question is I've seen the Elgato EyeHome for connection from the mac to tv's but i haven't a clue what software to archive my dvd's with to put into the movie folder.

Any ideas??

I assume you'll be using an amplifier or something to split the video to all your TVs?
