I'm looking to purchase the Sennheiser PC PRO Gaming Headset PC360 to use with my 2009 Mac Pro mainly for Skype, Starcraft 2 and a few other games but the headset is not USB.
I heard that the Mac Pro doesn't support audio in, with the 3.5mm jack and wanted to make sure this would work fine before I bought it. Thanks

The MacPro has a line-in. Look under connections and audio (http://www.apple.com/macpro/specs.html)

It might work, but probably not. The Mac Pro supports line in, but not mic in (amplified). You can try it and hope that the headphones have a line-level mic. If they don't, you can buy an in-line amplifier or get one of these: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/imic/

Same thing with the Macbook, all inputs are Line-In, the headset should work fine as a headset, but you'll need something like the iMic to use the Mic.

The mic wont work - unless the mic has a line-level output, something that is quite unlikely. I checked the PC360 specs in the Sennheiser site, and it seems it doesn't.
I guess that's why Sennheiser offers separate headsets for Macs, including gaming. Have you considered this one (http://www.sennheisercommunications.com/comm/home_en.nsf/root/headsets_macs_Gaming_500928?Open&row=2)? It's USB, but otherwise has very similar specs as the 360.

Macbook Pros also have the same issue: only line level input. My 2008 MP worked with a simple pc mic for a while, but upgrading to Leopard disabled this possibility. So now, all macs are either internal, USB or line-level mics. Too bad....

Sennheiser also makes a USB sound card device (http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?edc=1989556) for this purpose. There's a lot of similar products out there as well. The majority of them are plug-and-play with OS X.
