Apple have become more diversified, and are now not looking to control any monopoly, but have a de-facto one with the iPod, because of the poor selling of iPod competitors.

Getting pretty close already. I guess I'd like a PB with dual-core chips (by whomever, IBM or Freescale/Motorola), improved quality screen and resolution, excellent battery life and a Fire Gl card. To finish the dream, it would be 19.99.

I am glad it has been a success for them, but to me, I am only interested in them providing me excellent computers and applications for my usage. Until that changes, everything else is noise.

A few myths have been dispelled. Media companies are beginning to see that Apple has a place in the minds of the average Joe on the street and they're not sure what to make of it. I think it gives them more power to release products in the future knowing that people will at least give them a shot as they have seen the quality of the iPod.

Best design is split between the Quicksilver G4 and the iMac G4. Favourite app is iTunes, closely followed by Mail for Panther.
10. Overall opinion on how Apple has changed since iPod's (Windows) release?
It's become more customer friendly, appears to no longer be taking customers for granted as they arguably did for a while in the early 2000s (cf. $129 for the mess that was 10.0 then a further $129 for 10.2; phasing out of iTools for $99 per year .mac, that kind of stuff). Their recognition of the desire for better value products will hopefully stand them in good stead for the future, and the sooner a 10% marketshare is attained the better. A more considered OS strategy like they're taking with the Panther->Tiger transition is appreciated too.

Strategically. The next one I would write is Keynote in a Windows version. It'll never take off if it can't compete with Powerpoint(the DeFacto). Things like that might entice more and more people to come to the other side.

1. No, my main computer for home is a Fujitsu laptop. My main work computer is a Dell; but I can't control that one.
2. Just one; a 4 year old iMac ready to bite the big one.
3. I have not yet converted anyone, but I have convinced lots of people the ways in which Macs are far superior.

10. iPods changed EVERYTHING for apple, IMHO. iPods are the ultimate mp3 player, period. It just raised awareness for the rest of the PC world about the great products apple produces. Even the new iMac's slogan was "..from the makers of the iPod". Why not feed off the iPod's infinite popularity? It's working. :)
