HD Help for Audio + Graphics work on 6 core?

6 core, 24GB RAM. Will be using Logic/Pro Tools combined with graphic software (PS, AE and Maya).
Help me figure out a good mix.

HD 1 (2 optical bay) - OSX boot/apps: Vertex 2 250GB SSD
HD2 (Audio projects) -- 250 gb SSD or 500 gb Velociraptor?
HD3 (Audio Samples) -- SSD 250gb or velocoraptor/black?
HD4 (PS/Maya projects, More Audio Samples + movies/music/photos/general storage) -- 2TB Velocoraptor or Black?

HD4 (Bootcamp -- Games, etc) -- WD Black or Velocoraptor (1-2TB)?

External -- Time Capsule or FW HD for backup and more storage..

Sound good? What changes should I make?

If you want quiet, as in for audio recording, I hear (no pun intended) the raptors do make some noise. Would be nice to "test drive" first. OK on the rest.

Really? I heard the latest ones were quieter than the blacks from several people online!!

However, should I get a SSD for audio project files?

Also, for samples SSD is very expensive and small ... but worth it?

but why for the samples ? would be my question

even the projects ? did not think that audio was that taxing on the HDD ? so I would more than likely go with regular HDD of your choice

How do I incorporate the Maya and PS files into this? Does scratch need its own drive or can it share? Do maya project files need their own drive?

Audio drive is the one I'm not sure of. Sample loading times can benefit from SSD.

if sample loading times can benefit :) then I guess its worth it :)

I dont know much about audio programs :) I miss rebirth and play with it a bit but just play !

PS I can say benefits from its own scratch but that depends on things like how big the files how efficient is it running and how much memory so the overall speed of working with a dedicated vs just pointing(sharing) at the same HDD as the files you might not notice ?

so if your files are smaller under 300 or so megs with 24 gigs ram you have scratch wont be a big deal I might say ? if your files are over 500 or so gigs scratch might benefit from a dedicated then ?
