The last week or so, my iMac has always been awake after I deliberately put it to sleep at night. I have checked the console and receive this:

Obviously something is wrong, since I did not use my computer (nor anything else, as I was sleeping) through those times.

I do have network to wake on because I have an Apple TV, but that was also off last night as well.

In addition, the process awacsd appears to keep crashing from a segmentation fault, yet when I look at the file in time machine, I've had it for over a month. I don't know what program this is linked to, or if I need it. I've looked in Activity Monitor but that only shows the process and nothing else.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Perhaps it would help if you could post a recent crash report, such as the one located at

/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/awacsd_2010-10-30-082953_localhost.crash

A bit of searching has failed to reveal what the awacs daemon is. If you open Terminal and enter

which awacsd

do you get

/usr/sbin/awacsd?

Here's the crash log (http://cl.ly/5a7aff68d34c80b483ef)
Sorry about the link, but it's too long for one post.
And every other crash in there is from that same daemon. Including two more since the one above.

And yes Terminal gives me
/usr/sbin/awacsd

when I type in "which awacsd"

Thanks

The crash report indicates that you are running OS Version: Mac OS X 10.6.5 (10H542). This is an early pre-release build. (How did you get it?)

I'm running 10.6.4 and have no such daemon, so I'm at a loss here. Maybe someone else knows what

awacsd connectivity-28.1 $Rev: 841 $ (Sep 7 2010 12:05:02)

is. The Sep. 7 date suggests that it may have come along with (10H542), which was released about a week later.

I'm a licensed Apple Developer so I have access to the beta since I am using the AirPrint API's etc.

But that would make a lot of sense actually it could definitely be that. I'll try rolling back and checking the date I upgraded.

Thanks!
