Yep,
Moto's joint venture with Philips and STG has begun to flower. These new chips will probably end up in embedded chip devices, though. So it doesn't really help Apple out.

Also, Moto has put together a system for wireless ISPs. The range is somewhere between 2 and 20 miles. It's called Canopy and it looks to be a promising way to get broadband without involving those pesky Cable and Phone companies.
