I was working on an old Window 2k machine, and I got the error
"KEYBOARD ERROR - NO KEYBOARD IS CONNECTED TO THE SYSTEM" next line "IF YOU WANT TO CONTUNIE WITH STARUP PRESS F1 OR PRESS DEL TO ENTER SETUP"
If the computer is so smart to tell you that the keyboard is not connected why then does it tell you to use the keyboard that is not connected to the system to tell it what to do??
Anyone have any better error message?

The message allows you to continue after you connect the keyboard.

I tried that, but it didn't work for me. I had to reboot, but since it just got to the bios sceen it didn't take long after I had the keyboard connected.
The Error message does not tell you to connect the keybard and then press a key. It just tells you that no keybard is conenced and to press a key to continue.
So FYI to the error message gods .... change the message to "KEYBOARD NOT FOUND, PLEASE CONNECT A KEYBOARD AND PRESS F1 TO CONTINUE OR DEL TO ENTER SETUP."

Well... I think that people could probably put together 2 + 2 and figure out they need to plug in a keyboard if they get the no keyboard error.
That being said, it should have worked for you.

Isn't that a typical crash for apps on OS X?

Couldn't resist... I love my PB, but the error messages aren't the most informative. All though my XP system gives a nice little memory dump (etc), it's rarely any help anyway. ;)
edit: To date 1 application crash in OS X, uncountable in XP.
Slightly off topic but eh well...
Does anyone remember the good ol' Type 10 and 11 bombs in System 7.5? If I remember correctly, PPC was still new and most programs were designed for 68k macs. Certain 68k instructions caused the system to go into a tizzy and the mac would BOMB. The error message would say click restart but more often than not the mouse had completely locked up or you couldn't even click the butten.

Actually, I can't remember one time that I got a bomb and clicking the "Restart" button actually restarted the computer. It always locked up right after I clicked Restart.

Oh the painful memories are suddenly coming back.
My favorite and most often-occurring one is "The application 'Freehand' has unexpectedly quite".

And who can forget the Amiga and it's series of Guru Meditation errors, with inexplicably long numerical codes? When I was a kid and my best friend and I had our A500s, we made up a Guru Meditation song.
Personally, I like the style of the KP screen a lot. It reminds me of those shirts from the 80s that said something like "You are now exiting the American Quarter" in a bunch of different languages....

That is so funny. :)

Umm... yeah... However memory dumps are not very helpful. It might if the dump actually contains some sort of identifying text that might identify the driver / application that caused the problem.
Windows does suck. It's poorly written and tested.
edit: sorry toned down post...

and The application 'Extensis Suitcase' has unexpectedly quit...
on average 10-12 times a day, that program needs some TLC from the developers

Has nothing to do with it. Thanks for playing tho. Come back when you're more than just a troll, and have some actual technical input to offer.

It's a generic BIOS error which has been around since the inception of the basic input output system in the early 80's. :P

Damn, I loved those. They beat out BSODs a million to one. And the old old old systems that displayed the Mac with the code under it... someone here has that for their 'tar. It was funny. :D

Yah. I know. Still you'd think they would have changed it after that length of time.
