Hey guys,

I want to format my hard drive but I have two partitions in addition to my main partition, one for music and one for important files. What I want to know is can i format my mac hard drive wiping everything out on the main partition and keep the other two partitions intact and so containing the data that is currently on there?

If you're worried about accidentally erasing your other hard drives, simply disconnect them while you change the partition scheme on your internal drive.

Also: MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP YOUR DATA BEFORE MESSING WITH PARTITIONS. The chances of losing your data are relatively low, but there's still a chance and you don't want to lose everything.
