Compared to a mid 2010 MBP, what is the quality like?

It's not very clear and somewhat of a disappointment. I've used it twice just for testing and it's very grainy. The camera doesn't even take photos well, it's very low quality. Both cameras on my iPhone 4 are better.

for me it takes better facetime video than my iphone 4.. weird.

Quality is much worse than my old macbook and my 6 month old iMac. Disappointing.

Quite a disparity in opinions. Any way we could get model/manufacturer numbers to see if there are different cameras being put in these MBAs?

Perhaps some photo comparisons? (MBA vs iPhone 4 forward facing camera)

Here's what my system profiler says:

Product ID: 0x850a
Vendor ID: 0x05ac (Apple Inc.)
Version: 6.25
Serial Number:
Speed: Up to 480 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: Apple Inc.
Location ID: 0x24600000
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): 500

It is just a mediocre VGA webcam, thats it. If you care about having a good webcam, you will be disappointed. If you never use the camera, you won't care.

It doesn't seem as good as my old MacBook's camera, but it works decently. Don't expect HD video calls or anything!

Is the quality noticeably on taking Photo Booth photos, that's what I mostly use it for.

No more VGA quality Apple!

Remove the VGA quality from your iSights and front facing camera on the iPhone 4!

...No rush 😀

I know it's a little thing, but I like that the light blends in with the bezel. Much more sleek than my old MacBook.
