I need a lil help for a buddy of mines. he wants to install windows 7 on a usb hdd and boot on a mac. he doesnt have a windows machine just the os. all im asking is for a few basic pointers on how to get this done.
edit: he just told me he has a win 7 iso

Burn the iso to a dvd, put it in the superdrive, and run the bootcamp assistant. You don't need to install windows to a separate usb drive.

You don't need to install windows to a separate usb drive.
More importantly, you can't. There is no reliable way to get Windows 7 to work on a USB drive, unlike XP.
